Hughton dispatched his squad for a well-earned holiday with individual fitness programmes after they ensured a successful conclusion to the club's arduous Coca-Cola Championship campaign.
He said: "After a long, tough season, they will have a good break. We finished a week earlier than everybody else, so they will have a good break this summer.
"What is important is they stick to their programmes but what I have found for many a year is that they will come back in good shape. Players do these days. Gone are the days when players would specifically use the pre-season period to get themselves fit.
"Generally these lads are in decent fitness before they come back and what they do know is that they are coming back into a Premier League season and I am quite sure they will all come back in very good shape."

CHRIS HUGHTON is preparing to scour the Championship bargain bin in a bid to strengthen his Newcastle United squad for next season’s Premier League campaign.
The Magpies manager had budgeted to sign three or four new recruits following promotion to the top flight, but has been told by owner Mike Ashley that there will be “no capital outlay on new players” during the summer.
