From The Sunday Sun: AS the Toon Army partied yesterday thoughts turned to preparations for the battle ahead in the Premiership after the Magpies maintained their unbeaten home record against Ipswich. Speaking before and after watching Newcastle being presented with the Coca-Cola Championship title after the 2-2 draw against the Tractor Boys the fans are now demanding that Mike Ashley capitalises on their stunning season by putting his hand in his pocket and stumping up the cash for new talent. Although some fans want him to go, many others believe he should be given another chance to show he can lead the Magpies to future glory. But the names on everyone’s lips were manager Chris Hughton - who received lavish praise for his managerial-style - and Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll for their contribution not only on the pitch but also helping to bring the team together.
